The Dynastic Cruise from Luxor to Aswan (6 Days)

Experience the luxury and style of days gone by aboard the steamship Sudan. Built for King Fouad toward the end of the nineteenth century, this vessel has been lovingly restored to be the last of its kind to cruise the Nile. The charms of the Sudan were described in detail in Agatha Christie's 'Death on the Nile' and today, its authentic atmosphere still evokes images of Hercule Poirot pacing the decks. The Sudan is faithful to her origins with authentic fixtures and period furniture, rich woodwork, leather upholstery, brass bedsteads, panelled passageways and wooden decks, yet integrated with all the modern conveniences one would expect of a luxury river vessel.

Sun Deck

Sun Deck

The top deck of the Sudan has been converted into a large terrace furnished with deck chairs and armchairs. As you cruise along the majestic Nile, this is a great place to sit and take in the sights along the riverbanks. Along the Sudan's other outside decks and passageways you will find elegant cane furniture and green plants, which add to the refined atmosphere of the ship.

Just like the cabins, the Sudan's restaurant has a Belle Epoque elegance. The woodwork and the furniture is all original, creating a charming atmosphere. All cruises on this ship include full board and the daily changing menus contain both western and eastern flavours.

As the sun goes down, the show continues as you take in the wonderful views from the Panorama lounge/bar. It was this intimate setting that inspired the famous author, Agatha Christie to pen one of the most famous scenes in 'Death on the Nile'.
