Sea Bird

8 Day Praslin and Surrounding Islands Seychelles Cruise

Discover the mesmerizing islands of the Seychelles on board the Sea Bird, a modern yacht combining comfort with the charm and character of a traditional sail boat. The vessel has a dining room, bar, salon and expansive sun deck on which to relax or socialize. Accommodation is provided in double or triple cabins each with air conditioning and en suite showers. Spend your days snorkeling, diving and exploring beautiful, often uninhabited islands and evenings dining on authentic Creole cuisine. The Sea Star and Sea Bird vessels are a fleet and therefore interchangeable, so you may be allocated either ship on your cruise.

Embark the ship at 10:30hrs at the Inter-Island Quay, Port Victoria. **Itineraries are subject to change.

Day 1: Mahé

Set sail from Mahé at midday traversing the scenic coastline of Mahé's northern peninsula, past the beautiful bay of Beau Vallon. Enjoy your first night onboard the Sea Bird with a welcome barbeque.

Day 2: Baie Ternay Marine Park

Sail to the Baie Ternay Marine Park and Nature Reserve on the western coast of Mahé, where the calm crystal clear waters are perfect for snorkeling, diving and swimming. In the afternoon the ship sails to Beau Vallon Bay, a great spot for admiring the sunset.

Day 3: Cousin Island

Sail to Cousin Island in the morning to visit a protected nature reserve, famed for its sea bird colonies and also as a sanctuary for Seychelles' rare endemic land birds and other native species. In the afternoon sail to Praslin, for an afternoon of diving and water-sports..

Day 4: Praslin

The ship sets sail to Anse Possession on the island of Praslin, where you will disembark and visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Vallée de Mai nature reserve. The ancient forest is home to the infamous double coconut, the coco de mer, as well as the Black Parrot, unique to the island of Praslin.

Day 5: La Digue

Sail to the sleepy island of La Digue, where ox-cart and bicycles are the most common form of transportation throughout the island. The island is home to the endemic Seychelles Paradise Flycatcher and the giant granite boulder formations at Anse Source d’Argent, perhaps one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Explore the island by bicycle and visit a number of island attractions including the vanilla plantation, a copra mill and shipyard.

Day 6: Curieuse - St. Pierre - Praslin

In the morning set sail to Curieuse, a virtually uninhabited island, where you can explore the vast mangrove forests, giant tortoise farm and the historic remains of a former leper colony. After a barbeque lunch on the island, spend the afternoon relaxing on the beach or enjoying an array of watersports. Later the boat will sail back towards Praslin, stopping at the tiny islet of St Pierre, an excellent spot for snorkeling and diving amongst the nooks and crannies of the granite boulders. Continue to Anse Lazio, one of the most beautiful beaches in Praslin, where you can swim, snorkel or simply relax on the beach.

Day 7: Ile Seche

After breakfast the vessel begins its sail towards Mahé, anchoring in the Ste Anne Marine National Park with its cluster of lush granite islands for an afternoon of water-sports and diving. Overnight at Ile Seche.

Day 8: Mahé

Following breakfast, disembark at Inter-Island Quay at 08.30hrs.
