Scottish Highlander

The 8-passenger Scottish Highlander is a river barge offering the unique atmosphere of a Scottish Country House, with subtle use of tartan furnishings and landscape paintings. The barge was fully refurbished in 2000. At 117 feet, she is spacious and has every comfort for year-round cruising. The experienced crew members are excellent hosts and will attend to your every need during the week-long cruise. The legends of the past, the taste of single malt and the mythical inhabitant of Loch Ness all contribute to a special magic only experienced in Scotland’s dramatic Highlands.

With the air of a Scottish Country House, the Scottish Highlander is one of Europe’s premier barge ships. Offering 117 feet to a maximum of just 8 passengers, this ship is both intimate and spacious. As a guest aboard the Scottish Highlander you can lounge in style in the ship’s interior which holds the saloon, dining area and four en-suite cabins with two windows each. You will enjoy the traditionally decorated interior with tastefully selected tartan furnishings and landscape paintings. Though you may enjoy magnificent views from the open sundeck, the space is unfurnished and therefore most guests lounge indoors.

The crew of four will accommodate your needs throughout your venture. The skilled master chef incorporates Scottish fare into the daily menu, providing a true taste of Scottish life. The all inclusive package covers buffet style breakfast and lunch and an elegant dinner, all served in a single seating. The dinner menu features Munro of marinated Salmon, Pheasant breast with Horseradish sauce and Navarin of Lamb with Thyme Parsley and Bay leaf, and each dinner is paired with French and New World wines as well as carefully selected cheeses.
