You may join an optional excursion through the heartland of the county of Kent, known to many as the ‘Garden of England’, to the historic city of Canterbury. Here you will find one of England's most famous cathedrals, city of Geoffrey Chaucer's Canterbury Tales and now a UNESCO world heritage site. There will be time to explore the narrow medieval streets before continuing your excursion to Leeds Castle, the oldest and most romantic castle in England, set in 500 acres of beautiful grounds and parkland.

Day 3: Isle of Wight

Situated just off the south coast of England is the small 'Isle of Wight', a popular holiday spot since Queen Victoria decided to spend her summers here at Osborne House. To the east of the island you will find lovely sandy beaches and quaint seaside towns. To the west is the distinctive sandstone cliffs and famous Needles rising out of the sea. There are a number of optional excursions available including an island tour visiting Carisbrook Castle and the town of Shanklin or alternatively visit the Royal Osborne House and grounds.

Day 4: Isles of Scilly

Located at the south west tip of Cornwall, the Isles of Scilly form a small British island chain whose climate, landscapes and lifestyle are unlike any other and seem to have come straight from an Enid Blyton story. Here you will find long sandy beaches, tropical plants and ancient castle ruins and its rugged coastline plays host to a variety of wildlife. Optional excursions include a walking tour visiting the stunning Tresco Abbey Gardens were created nearly 170 years ago by Augustus Smith around the remains of the 12th century Saint Nicholas Priory or a walking tour of the lovely island St Mary's, the largest of the Scilly islands.

Day 5: Kinsale

Arrive early morning at Kinsale, considered Ireland's most beautiful village due to its sublime natural landscapes and rich cultural heritage. Discover attractive streets lined with colourful houses, art galleries and theatres, as well as to a 17th-century fort. You may also join an optional excursion to Blarney Castle and a panoramic tour of Cork.

Day 6: Dartmouth

Arrive early morning to the charming setting of the small town of Dartmouth in the county of Devon, South-East England. Set in the heart of lush scenery, on the banks of the River Dart’s estuary, the town’s magnificent landscapes are typical of English countryside. You have the chance to visit Buckfast Abbey, a thriving community of Benedictine monks on an optional excursion. You may also visit Greenway House and Gardens, the holiday home of Agatha Christie during the 1950's.

Day 7: Sailing along the Jurassic Coast - Poole

Today the ship will sail along the Jurassic coast of Dorset and East Devon. Its name is a reference to the many fossils from that period found there. Stretching more than 150 km, the “Pearl of Dorset” is a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of its geological interest. Admire the spectacular rugged cliffs and perhaps catch a glimpse of the famous Durdle Door, a natural arch carved out of the rock by erosion. Continue to Poole where you may join an excursion to the quintessential English village of Beaulieu. Nestling alongside the Beaulieu River, near to Palace House, it has been the home of the Montagu family since 1538. Most of the Village forms part of the 7000-acre Beaulieu Estate. Nearby are the lovely ruins of Beaulieu Abbey, which was founded in 1204 by Cistercian monks and also on the grounds is the interesting National Motor Museum.
