La Dolce Vita

La Dolce Vita was originally a Dutch vessel which now traverses the calm waters of the Venetian lagoon. This charming 6-passenger vessel with a crew of three is the only barge which cruises this unique route. She has three comfortable cabins each with an en-suite bathroom. The route is a mixture of canal and river following the ancient trade routes used by the Romans and the early Mediterranean settlers. La Dolce Vita is air-conditioned and boasts a spacious sun deck for outdoor dining or just admiring the stunning Italian architecture as you cruise.

Info

Essentially a private ship, La Dolce Vita has just three cabins. The intimate vessel is additionally unique due to her intriguing history. Constructed in Holland in 1897, the vessel was converted into a hotel barge in 2004. It now carries up to six passengers through beautiful Italian lagoons and canals.

Indoors you may relax in your cosy cabin, complete with an en-suite bathroom and one small window, or in the vessel’s saloon. La Dolce Vita’s atmosphere is relaxed with a stereo system, small library and board games providing entertainment. The wine, liquour and soft drink stocked bar is inclusive and you are free to help yourself to drinks. Outdoor relaxation is made easy with gorgeous views and the furnished sundeck.

Buffet-style breakfast and lunch and seated dinner are served in a single seating. Continental breakfast is followed by lunch typically serving breads, cold-cuts, salads and cheeses. Dinner is an elegant candlelit affair offering regional cuisine. Carefully selected wines, desserts, cheeses, coffees and liqueurs compliment the dinner selection. Dress is casual most nights, but the Captain’s dinner calls for cocktail attire. Tipping is left to your discretion but averages 4 to 7 percent of your fare.
