Dahabiya Hadeel

The Dahabiya Hadeel combines the traditionally crafted sailboat of days gone by with all the modern comforts and luxuries expected in today's world. Dahabiyas were used in the days of the Egyptian Monarchy (1920's - 40's) when aristocrats and sophisticated travellers would hire the boats for weeks at a time so that they could sail from temple to temple at their own pace. Today, the Hadeel will take you slowly up and down the Nile powered by the wind in her sails and is a wonderful alternative to the large Nile cruise ships. On occasions, when there is little or no wind, the Hadeel's own tow-boat will be used to help you along. There are just 8 cabins on board, all with private en suite facilities. Due to licensing restrictions, alcohol cannot be sold on board but you can bring your own and the crew will happily store it and serve it to you without charging a corkage fee.

Come along for a special cruise on this beautiful sailboat with a history unlike any other. Dahabiya boats were used in ancient times only for the wealthiest Egyptians. They have recently experienced a growth in popularity, making your cruise in Egypt all the more authentic and memorable. These boats have been crafted to ensure the comforts of home while still allowing for adventure and excitement!

The Hadeel, which is Arabic for gentle pigeon coo, carries an exclusive 16 passengers. There are 8 cabins on the boat, each with their own shower, hand basin, toilet and shower. Other amenities on the ship include a lounge, Jacuzzi and a dining room. Also enjoy the top deck which is ideal for sunbathing, relaxing or watching the scenery along the Nile glide past.

The Hadeel is the newest Dahabiya on the Nile and was launched in 2007. She includes an experienced staff of 10 and offers an impressive staff to passenger ratio. The onboard chef is trained in both Egyptian and international cuisine and will cater to all your meal desires, serving sumptuous dishes.

Your visit to the Nile and Egypt promises to be unforgettable. Let this enchanting sailboat take you to new places whilst you relax and unwind.
