St. Martin Tourist Guide
The tiny city of Marigot - barely four streets wide - is the
most French in spirit of any part of the Caribbean and looks in
every way like a market town in France. Beside its harbour is
Marina Port Royale with elegant luxury boutiques. The village of
Orleans on the eastern edge of the island was the original French
settlement and it retains some 17th century houses.
Saint Martin is one of the main yachting centers of the
Caribbean. Simpson Bay is the largest lagoon in the region and is
the base for a large fleet of private boats. For night-time
entertainment, the Dutch side has a choice of casinos and both
parts of the island have a great range of night-clubs, bars and
discos.
